I’m the owner and personal travel advisor behind Carey-ed Away Travel. I’m also a lawyer, professional researcher, mom of four humans and six cats, partner to Richie, lifelong traveler, and the person who can’t just “wing it” when I know there are better options to be found. I founded Carey-ed Away Travel because I believe a great vacation should feel exciting from the very first conversation, not like a second job.
My path to becoming a travel advisor was a little unconventional. I’ve spent nearly 20 years as an attorney, and it turns out those skills translate ridiculously well to travel. That means I know how to dig deeper than the first page of Google, compare options that look identical until you read the fine print, ask the questions nobody thinks to ask, organize a ridiculous number of moving pieces, and spot potential problems before they become your problems.

What Guides Me as Your Personal Travel Advisor
I believe the way we move through the world matters. Travel is more than checking destinations off a list or collecting pretty photos, although I fully support a gorgeous view and an aggressively good hotel balcony. At its best, travel changes the way we see people, places, and ourselves.
It invites us to slow down, pay attention, listen before assuming, and experience the world with more curiosity and context. That's precisely why I plan trips with intention. I want your trip to feel beautiful, seamless, and personal, but I also want it to feel meaningful.
The best itineraries are not the ones that cram in the most stops. They're the ones that give you room to actually be there: to share a meal, wander a street, learn a story, watch your kids react to something new, or have the kind of moment you talk about years later.
